| The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2005 ArcticNet scientific cruise #0501. The data were collected from August 14 to 23, 2005, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 54 casts, associated to 36 oceanographic stations, in the Northern Baffin Bay. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird SBE-9plus), dissolved oxygen (Sea-Bird SBE-43), pH (Sea-Bird SBE-18-I), fluorescence (Seapoint chlorophyll fluorometer), nitrate concentration (Satlantic MBARI-ISUS 5T), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissometer), light intensity (Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR); Biospherical Instruments QCP2300) and surface light intensity (sPAR; Biospherical Instruments QCP2200). Quality control procedures were applied to the data. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during leg #0603 of the 2006 ArcticNet scientific cruise. The data were collected from September 30 to October 19, 2006, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 70 CTD casts, associated to 33 oceanographic stations, in the Beaufort Sea area. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2007-2008 ArcticNet scientific cruise #0806. The data were collected from September 5 to 25, 2008, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 83 casts, associated to 44 oceanographic stations, in the Baffin Bay area. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird SBE-9plus), dissolved oxygen (Sea-Bird SBE-43), pH (Sea-Bird SBE-18-I), fluorescence (Seapoint chlorophyll fluorometer), nitrate concentration (Satlantic MBARI-ISUS 5T), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissometer), light intensity (Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR); Biospherical Instruments QCP2300) and surface light intensity (sPAR; Biospherical Instruments QCP2200). | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2010 ArcticNet scientific cruise #1003c. The data were collected from October 24 to 27, 2010, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 19 casts associated to 19 stations, located in the Labrador Fjords. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2011 ArcticNet scientific cruise #1102b with the participation of Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Limited (IORVL). The data were collected from August 28 to September 6, 2011, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 14 casts associated to 8 stations, located in Baffin Bay and Northwest Passage. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird SBE-9plus), dissolved oxygen (Sea-Bird SBE-43), fluorescence (Seapoint chlorophyll fluorometer), Colored Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM) (Wetlabs FL(RT)D), nitrate concentration (Satlantic MBARI-ISUS 5T), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissometer), light intensity (Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR); LI-COR Biosciences) and surface light intensity (sPAR; LI-COR Biosciences). Quality control procedures were applied to the data. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2009 Malina scientific cruise #0902 as part of the ArcticNet program. The data were collected from July 31 to August 24, 2009, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 167 casts associated to 52 stations, located in the Beaufort Sea research area. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during LEG 01 of the 2003 CASES scientific cruise #0303. One cast, associated to 1 oceanographic station, is located in the Northern Baffin Bay research area. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird 911 probe), oxygen (Sea-Bird 43), fluorescence (Seapoint fluorometer), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissometer). There are two different versions of the CTD data file. A version containing processed data that was sent to the NIs and the original version containing all the data and metadata that were quality controlled. | The Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) data was obtained during the 2007-2008 scientific cruise #0707 within the framework of the Circumpolar Flaw Lead Study (CFL). This program included a year round sampling expedition to study the air-sea interactions occurring in the ice-free sections of the southern Beaufort Sea and Amundsen Gulf. The data were collected from November 10 to December 18, 2007, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 105 casts, associated to 16 oceanographic stations, in the Beaufort Sea area. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird SBE-9plus), dissolved oxygen (Sea-Bird SBE-43), pH (Sea-Bird SBE-18-I), fluorescence (Seapoint chlorophyll fluorometer), nitrate concentration (Satlantic MBARI-ISUS 5T), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissometer), light intensity (Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR); Biospherical Instruments QCP2300) and surface light intensity (sPAR; Biospherical Instruments QCP2200). Quality control procedures were applied to the data. | Moving Vessel Profiling (MVP) data collected by the CCGS Amundsen in the Canadian Arctic
| The Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen is equipped with a Moving Vessel Profiler (copyright) (MVP), a multi-purpose instrument used to collect both shallow and deep water data sets, without the need to stop the vessel. Data on physical and chemical characteristics of the water column are collected during transects along which several consecutive casts of the MVP are conducted. The MVP was deployed during the Amundsen scientific expeditions, in the summer and fall of 2004 to 2018 with the exception of 2005 and 2006, where no data is available, and 2012 because the ship was undergoing maintenance. The components of the system varied slightly throughout the year but typically included a Micro Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) (Temperature, Conductivity and Pressure), a Micro DO2 (Dissolved Oxygen), a Micro SV (Sound velocity and Pressure) and an ECOFLO (Fluorescence) and a C-Star (Transmittance) probe. The MVP data were corrected and then controlled by comparing them to CTD-Rosette and thermosalinograph (TSG) data when available. Variables are provided for every decibar (dbar) between the maximum and minimum pressure recorded for each cast.
